A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Monday, November 10, 2003 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, St. Anthony for Matilda Moonen who died Thursday morning at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 5-9 PM Sunday at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Albany & after 9:30 AM Monday at the church. Christian Mothers will pray at 7 PM followed by Parish Prayers at 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Matilda was born in Roscoe to Joseph & Margaret (Buchholz) Kunstleben. She married George Moonen on June 7, 1949 in Melrose. After their marriage, the couple farmed near St. Anthony, and later moved to Albany. Matilda was a member of the Albany Pioneer Club, Christian Mothers & St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
Matilda is survived by her sons, William (Sheri), St. Michael; Michael (Michelle), Albany; 4 grandchildren, & sisters, Veronica Olmscheid, Monica Kamphake, Bertha Haskamp, & Theresa Ertl.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, infant son, Daniel, brother, Henry, infant sister, Martha, sisters, Alvina, & Rose.
