Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids for Monica A. Olmscheid, age 86, of Sauk Rapids, who died Tuesday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Ronald Weyrens will officiate and burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Melrose. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Monica was born February 23, 1922 in Roscoe to Joseph & Margaret (Buchholz) Kunstleben. She married Albert Olmscheid on June 16, 1942 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. They lived in Elrosa for 10 years, Anoka for 25 years, and Monica has lived in Sauk Rapids for the past 31 years. Monica was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids. She enjoyed playing cards, chinese checkers, and jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Monica had a special love for children.
Survivors include her daughters, Lillian (Luverne) Cossairt of Bloomington and Jane Husmann of Yuma, AZ; granddaughter, Kimberly Cossairt of Blue Earth; twin sister, Veronica Kamphake of Sauk Rapids; and sisters, Bertha Haskamp of Sauk Centre and Teresa Ertl of Avon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert on March 23, 1981; brother, Henry Kunstleben; sisters, Rose Wensmann, Alvina Barthel, and Matilda Moonen; and infant sister, Martha.
