Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids for Margaret M. Dockendorf, age 81 of Sauk Rapids, who died Sunday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Most Reverend John Kinney, Rev. Robert Rolfes, Rev. Ron Dockendorf, Rev. Ron Weyrens and concelebrating priests will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the church in Sauk Rapids.
Margaret was born Feb. 21, 1932, in New Munich to Mike and Margaret (Eickoff) Boeckers. She married Norbert Dockendorf on Sept. 23, 1952, in New Munich and moved to Sauk Rapids. Margaret was a homemaker and worked as a nursing assistant at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home and St. Benedict’s Center for over 25 years, retiring in 2007. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids and St. Monica’s Society (Christian Mothers). Margaret enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends, flower gardening, old time and religious music, collecting angels and bells, going to Mass and praying, especially to St. Therese. She also enjoyed time with her family and dog “Hugo.”
Survivors include her husband, Norbert of Sauk Rapids; children, Rev. Ron of Swanville/Grey Eagle, Ben (Julie) of Sauk Rapids, Daniel of Sartell, Doris (Joe) Lancaster of Bayport, Marian (Doug) Reek of St. Cloud, Mark of Sauk Rapids, Steven of Sauk Rapids; daughter-in-law, Mary Dockendorf of Clearwater; sisters, Sr. Anne Boeckers, O.S.B. of Maplewood, Florentine Meier of Albany; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David; brothers, Arnold, Casper, Hildebrand and sister, Mary Wycoff.
