Arnold Gerhard Boeckers was born November 3, 1926, in New Munich to Mike and Margaret (Eichoff) Boeckers. He married Lorraine Hoeschen on May 24, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. The couple lived on the home farm 5 miles south of New Munich until 1986. Arnie never retired; he kept working on the farm until the very end. He was a generous and loving husband, father, and friend to many. The fruits of his kindness and generosity will remain with us always and he will occupy a special place in all of our hearts forever. Arnie took great pleasure sharing in the company of others on the farm and he was devoted to his wife and family. His lifelong love was caring for the animals and working in the fields.
Survivors include his loving wife, Lorraine Boeckers of New Munich; eight children, Carol Schneider of Saint Cloud, Judy (Dave) Nelson of Monticello, Joe Boeckers (fiancée Diane) of Upsala, Jim (Diane) Boeckers of New Munich, Marvin (Michelle) Boeckers of Henning, Irene (Don) Lieser of Meire Grove, Marilyn (John) McDonald of Richland, Wash., Lois (Tim) Matti of Blaine; 22 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Sandy Boeckers; brother, Hildebrand Boeckers. "Though it's hard to let go, in the Father's hands we know that a lifetime's not too long to live as friends." We love you Dad & Grandpa and will sorely miss you. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
