Valeria Bertram, age 79, died Tuesday July 4, 2006,after a battle with cancer at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2006 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Belgrade with Father Tony Kroll officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade, where there will be a 5:30 Christian Mothers Rosary and 7:30 parish prayer service. Visitation will continue on Friday morning at the funeral home before leaving for the church at 10:15 a.m.
Valeria Marie (Haider) Bertram was born August 23, 1926 on a farn near Elrosa. She was the daughter of Henry and Rose (Fuchs) Haider. Valeria attended a country school near Elrosa. She was married to Norbert Bertram from Spring Hill on September 30, 1947 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. Following their marriage they farmed in rural Belgrade until 1990 when they retired to Belgrade. Norbert passed away October 29, 2001.
Valeria is survived by children Sharon (Dave) Burg, Tom (Paula) Bertram, Romie (Carol) Bertram, Dave (Nancy) Bertram, Kevin (Ruth) Bertram, sisters Rita (Lyle) Hueseth, Leona (Al) Bertram, Rosie (Phil) Meyer, brothers Vincent (Donna) Haider, Gene (Jean) Haider, Butch (Marge) Haider.
