Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Greenwald, for Rose Haider, 93, who died Sunday at Pine Haven Care Center.Burial will be in the parish cemetery.Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday and 8 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. Daughters of Isabella and St. Ann's Christian Mothers will have services at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Melrose followed by parish prayers at 8.
Rose Haider was born in Lake Henry Township, Stearns County, to John and Mary (Weyman) Fuchs. She married Henry Haider on Sept. 29, 1925, in St. Margaret's Catholic Church, Lake Henry. They lived and farmed in the Elrosa area until retiring in 1965 and moving to Greenwald. He died on June 28, 1974. She had been a resident of Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose for the past four years. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, St. Ann's Christian Mothers and Daughters of Isabella. She also was a social member of Catholic Aid Society.
Survivors include daughters and sons, Valeria Bertram of Belgrade, Rita Gregory-Huseth of St. Cloud, Leona Bertram and Rose Mary Meyer of Greenwald, Leander, Vincent and Eugene of Elrosa, and Henry Jr. 'Butch' of Melrose; brother, Peter of Sartell; 41 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.She was preceded in death by an infant son, Duane; brothers and sisters, Edward, Anton, Michael, Louise Winter, Magdalena Blonigen, Margaret Lieser, Agatha Lieser and Cecelia VanBeck; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
