Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 AM on Monday, March 13, 2006 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell for Peter Paul Fuchs, age 87, of Sartell who died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at the Country Manor Health Care Center in Sartell. His nephew Reverend Al Blonigan will officiate. Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Sunday and after 10:30 AM on Monday at St. Francis Xavier Church in Sartell. A prayer service by the Knights of Columbus Council 5276 will be held at 5 PM on Sunday and the St. Cloud Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Fr. Pierz Assembly will stand guard from 4:30-7 PM.
Peter was born March 28, 1918 in Lake Henry, Minnesota to the late John and Mary (Weymann) Fuchs. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from St. Cloud Business College in 1938. He married Agnes Eveslage on October 8, 1940 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Greenwald. Pete worked as an accountant in St. Cloud and in 1942 he went to Alaska and was an accountant for the construction company that was building the Al-Can Highway. Later he lived and worked in Montevideo, MN and Albany, OR. Pete and Agnes moved to Marshall, MN in 1951 where he continued to be an accountant at Swift & Co., and then at Lyon County Co-op for 27 years where he was assistant manager. He retired in 1985. Pete and Agnes moved to Sartell, MN in 1996 to be closer to family. He was a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and was their comptroller and gambling manager for 13 years. He also was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Knights of Columbus Council 5276, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and former member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall, MN. Pete and Agnes were great dancers and loved dancing with their friends in Marshall. He also enjoyed bowling, traveling and yard work.
Peter Paul Fuchs is survived by his wife Agnes of Sartell, two daughters: Lynette "Lynn" and husband Herman Pietrowski of Little Falls and their family Kris and Jonathan Jank (Annika, Erika), Michele Pietrowski, and Doug and Susan Pietrowski (Brynn); Sandra "Sandy" and husband Robert Sexton of Sartell and their family Bobbi and Craig Lamp (Madisen, MacKenzie, Ben), Gina and Mark Halstrom (Bria, Mason, Riley, Carter, Madeline), and Ryan and Tracy Sexton (Ryan Jr., Gunner). His sister-in-law Margaret Fuchs and brother-in-law Adam Van Beck also survive him.
Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers Edward, Anton and Michael, sisters Louise Winter, Magdalena Blonigan, Margaret Lieser, Rose Haider, Agatha Lieser, Cecilia Van Beck and an infant brother and sister. The family would like to thank all the staff, especially the 300 wing, at Country Manor for the wonderful care he received. Memorials are preferred to the M.S. Society or Country Manor.
