Norbert Bertram age 77 of Belgrade, died Monday, October 29, 2001 at the Belgrade Nursing Home.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Belgrade. Visitation will be held 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade, with parish prayers at 8 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Aid Rosary at 8:30 p.m. Visitation will continue 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
Norbert Nick Bertram was born May 28, 1924 in Spring Hill. He was the son of Andrew and Christine (Olmscheid) Bertram. Norbert grew up on a family farm near Spring Hill where he also attended a country school. He was married to Valeria M. Haider on September 30, 1947 in Elrosa. Following their marriage they farmed in rural Belgrade until 1990 when they retired to Belgrade. He had been a resident at the Belgrade Nursing Home since this past February. Norbert was a member of the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Aid Society.
Norbert is survived by his wife, Valeria of Belgrade; daughter, Sharon (and Dave) Burg of Bloomington; sons, Tom (and Paula) of Brainerd, Romie (and Carol) of Melrose, Dave (and Nancy) of Belgrade, and Kevin (and Ruth) of Belgrade; 9 grandchildren; sisters, Helen Rose of St. Paul, Elizabeth (and Alfred) Rothstein of Paynesville, Marcella Lieser of Paynesville, and Dorothy Braegelman of Belgrade; brother, Walter (and Lucille) Bertram of St. Martin; and sisters-in-law, Vivian Bertram of Greenwald, and Marina Bertram of Paynesville.
