Mar 12, 1999 Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, for Eleanore B. Wiechmann, who died Friday at Melrose Area Hospital. Burial will be in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in St. Rosa. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. today and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Melrose Christian Mothers, St. Elizabeth's Catholic Aid Society and the St. Francis Mission Group will pray at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, followed by parish prayers at 8.
Eleanore Wiechmann was born Sept. 5, 1915, in Millwood Township, Stearns County, to Ben and Amanda (Toenyan) Boeckermann. She married Frank A. Wiechmann on Aug. 20, 1935, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa. The couple farmed near St. Rosa until 1975. She then farmed with her son, Mike, until retiring in 1980 and moved to Melrose. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, Melrose Christian Mothers, St. Elizabeth's Catholic Aid Society, St. Francis Mission Group, Melrose Senior Citizens and the Tuesday Card Club.
Survivors include sons and daughters, Patrick of Pennington, Cecelia Bauer and Susan Stoerman of Melrose, Richard of St. Cloud, Daniel of Brainerd, Rose Mary Sprenger, of Sleepy Eye, and Michael, of St. Rosa; brothers and sisters, Lawrence, of Hancock; Marie Kampsen and Monica Rieland of New Munich, Caroline Ahrens of Grey Eagle; Eddie, Roger and Frank of St. Rosa, Tony of St. Francis, and Helen Hallermann, of Sartell; 35 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Rosemary , Bernie Hallermann and Stella Ostendorf; and brother, Wilfred.
