Lawrence M. Boeckermann, 87, of Benson died Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, at West Wind Village in Morris.
The service was held on Sept. 27 at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Clontarf. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Lawrence was born Dec. 22, 1918, in Melrose to Bernard and Amanda (Toenyan) Boeckermann. He grew up on the family farm in Millwood Township, Stearns County, and attended school through the 8th grade.
On Nov. 7, 1944, he married Rita Arnzen in St. Rosa. He farmed until 1959, then went to work at Cargill in Hancock until 1964. He then worked at the municipal liquor store in Hancock until his retirement in 1986.
He was a member of the Catholic Aid Association.
He is survived by his wife; his children, Delores (and Dennis) Krantz of Ham Lake, Arlene (and Al) Nissen of Clontarf, Patricia (and Charles) Krantz of Isanti, David (and Ellie) Boeckermann of Deerwood, Ronald Boeckermann of Washington, Judith (and Philip) Erickson of Sandstone, James Boeckermann of Russell, Anne (and David) Tozier of Ham Lake, Richard (and Theresa) Boeckermann of Hibbing and Mary (and Rich) Ehrich of Zimmerman; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, Marie Kampsen of New Munich, Tony (and Edna) Boeckermann of Albany, Carrie Ahrens of Grey Eagle, Helen (and Donald) Hallerman of Sartell, Roger (and Irene) Boeckermann of Melrose and Monica Rieland of New Munich; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, four sisters and three brothers.
