Mildred (Millie) Schulte, age 75, beloved wife, mother, and avid golfer, is at rest after a courageous and valiant struggle with cancer. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in the State Veteran¹s Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at the Wenner Funeral Home, Richmond. Golden Smiles and Richmond Legion Auxiliary will pray a rosary at 4:30 p.m., and parish prayers will be at 8 p.m.
Millie was born in Farming, MN, to Albert and Elizabeth Backes. She married Richard Schulte on September 14, 1948, in St. Catherine¹s Church, Farming. She worked as a beautician until her retirement. She was an avid golfer, and a member of the Richmond Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband Richard; children, Linda (Barry) Tannenbaum, Peg (Jeff) Mackedanz, Lois (Paul) Liegge, Chuck (Michelle), Frederic ³Fritz² (Pam), Nick (Joan), Jim (Lisa), R.G. (Sue), and Peter; 20 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, George, Gene, and James Backes; and sisters, Flo Patterson, Ester Egelman, Irene Plantenberg, Joan Gerber, Rosalie Thomes, and Marie Ebnet.
She was preceded in death by brother, Carl Backes; and sister, Melda Spaeth. Special thanks to the Hospice Program, Wanda & Dorothy Zumwalde, and all her friends and neighbors.
