Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2002 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Richmond, for Richard T. Schulte, age 75, who died Thursday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the State Veteran's Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday at the Wenner Funeral Home, Richmond. The Golden Smiles will pray a rosary at 4:30 p.m., Richmond American Legion will pray a rosary at 7:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8:00 p.m.
Richard was born in Munson Township to Henry and Josephine (Ressemann) Schulte. He married Millie Backes on September 14, 1948, in St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Farming. He worked 45 years for the Cold Spring Granite Company. Richard was an avid baseball player and golfer. He was very active in the Richmond American Legion. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Richmond American Legion.
Richard is survived by his nine children, Linda (Barry) Tannenbaum, Peg (Jeff) Mackedanz, Lois (Paul) Lieggi, Chuck (Michelle), Fritz (Pam), Nick (Joan), Jim (Lisa), R.G. (Sue) and Pete; 20 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and sister, Irene (Schulte) Hemmesch.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Millie (2001); sisters, Viola, Leona, Lucille and brother, Elmer.
