Rev. David Culp
(13 Apr 1834 - 25 Feb 1884)
He enlisted in the Union army in the fall of 1861, fifteen days after his brother James. He was promoted from Private to Sergeant before being promoted to Lieutenant for gallantry.
After returning from the war, David was ordained to the work of Gospel Minister in 1885 or 1886.
After Martha's death, David remarried and had David Jr. with his second wife. All the children became guardians of David's brother, Marshall, after his death.
BURIAL: David and Martha are buried beside the graves of his parents Henry and Mary in Water Valley Cemetery (photograph available).
