Elizabeth Harter

(November 29, 1795 - June 18, 1887)

Elizabeth's life is pretty well documented in family histories and records. Her family was one of the first to settle in the Plain Ohio area so tey are featured in local area histories. Tales of their travels and adventures. Elizabeth's first impression of the undeveloped area is recorded, she was disappointed -coming from Pennsylvania to a new place with a total of 3 cabins and nothing else. She and her first husband Abraham Bair may have been the first marriage in the area. Her 2nd husband Jehu Grubb was the illegitimate son of Curtis and unknown heir to the Grubb Family Iron Dynasty of Pennsylvania. Elizabeth lived to 91 and was the mother of at least 10 children.
