At Find a Grave there is a headstone from 1727 for Edward then another more recent, no date, large flat sone for Edward and Elizabeth, both Inscribed ‘Here lies buried the body deacon Edward Morris aged 69 years deceased August 29, 1727’ and on the larger shared stone the same plus ‘Born in Roxbury Mar 10 1658. Came to Woodstock in 1691 Selectman twenty four years between 1691 & 1721 and twenty two years deacon of the church. Elizabeth Bowen Morris born in Roxbury Jan 26, 1661died Nov 20, 1743’.Civil
He was selectman twenty-four times from 1691 to 1722, was moderator of town meetings and proprietor meetings, was surveyor, assessor, and auditor. In 1691 he was on the committee to build the meeting house on Woodstock Hill.Occupation
