Descendants of William have said he was born in South Carolina in 1773; however, based on Y-DNA evidence, if he was born at this time, the family was still in Halifax/Henry County, Virginia, or perhaps on the North Carolina side of the state line.Residence
William is living next door to Philip Cox, and David Barton is a few doors away. William is married, and there are two young boys.Residence
William appears to have purchased 150 acres of land on Eastonola Creek from Thomas Cox. The land borders John Williams, and is close to Willis Cox. William had defaulted on land in the area in 1810.Address
Hall County was formed in 1819 from the western side of Franklin County. William's land on Eastanolle Creek appears to have been included in the county name change, causing the family to be in Hall County, Georgia.Residence
