The 1880 Census has him living in Linton Township, Allamakee County, Iowa with his parents and working as a farmer.
He is Baptized 3 Jun 1891 into Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (RLDS) at Webb City, Jasper County, Missouri by G. W. Hobart and confirmed by his father-in-law, Enoch Elijah Bradley and W. H. Hobart.
In the 1900 Census the family is living in Webb Ward 1, Jasper County, Missouri.
In the 1910 Census the family is living in Holden Ward 4, Johnson County, Missouri.
In the 1920 and 1930 Census the family is living in Niangua, Webster County, Missouri.
The 1924 obituary of his brother, Prelette, indicates William is living in Missouri.

"Edith (McGoon) Wilson #6 child of Wm McGoon [ Note: William Henry McGoon - my records indicate Edith married a Miller] wrote that David McGoon was an Indian and an Elder. [ David Henry McGoon was baptized in original Mormon church in 1832 at Kirtland, Ohio and then in 1865 was baptized into the Reorganized LDS Church and ordained as an Elder. ]
______? wrote that Delilah, David's wife, was also an Indian. And that this couple were also members of the early LDS church and lived in OH and gave their best dishes [sic] to the Kirtland Temple.
William Nelson McGoon, of Laramie, Wyoming #4 child b. 8 Aug 1899, wrote in a letter 22 Mar 1972: "I am the only registered Indian in my mother's family of McGoons, though my father is descended from the Sac-Fox tribe--about one sixteenth I have heard him claim. We are also related to some Canadian tribe which some say is Abenakis on my father's father's side. The McGoons emigrated to the States from Canada about 1815 when my grandfather was very young."
In a brief bio sketch from a letter of 1972 written by Edith McGoon Wilson, dau
of Katie and William Henry McGoon: "KATIE BELL (BRADLEY) McGOON. . . md WILLIAM HENRY McGOON . . .JUN 3, 1891. William was also baptized the same day early in the morning and the wedding was in the afternoon. William McGoon was a shoe cobbler and until 1902 lived in Webb City, Kansas and moved to Wright Co., MO, then 1907 to Niangua MO then in 1909 Aug to Holden MO. Then Grandma Bradley took sick so we moved back to Niangua April 1915."
