In the Iowa 1856 Census, Sarah is listed in Mendon Township, Clayton County, Iowa with Amanda (Amond) 16, William (Willia) 14, Hiram (Hirem) 11, Noah 9, and John Blasdale (Blaisdell) 8 along with a Silas Devel 47.
Clayton County, Iowa court records refer to her as 'Sarah.' Although the court records indicate David W. Freeman became guardian to John H. Blaisdell (from Sarah Royse) on 1 November 1857, the court indicates he served the papers to John and Sarah on 7 Jan 1858. Court papers of 14 Jun 1860 indicated Sarah Royse has departed this life. The assumption is Sarah died between 7 January 1858 and 14 June 1860 and that on 1 November 1857 she was too sick to take care of John H. Blaisdell.
