He enlisted in the Army on October 21, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio. He had finished 3 years of high school and was a buyer and purchasing agent. In December 1944 he was a sergeant and was wounded while serving in Germany.Obit
The following obit appeared in the Los Angeles Times on February 6, 1963, Page C7:"Herbert Nagel, beloved husband of Yvette Nagel, father of Clifford Mark Nagel, Martin Gregory Nagel & Barbara Sue Nagel, brother of Sam, Jerry Sol, Harry, and Abe Nagel and Clara Allenick. Services Thursday 10 A.M. Mount Sinai Chapel, Mount Sinai Mortuary."
