Benjamin did not marry. In his will written 5 July 1759 (probate 15 October 1765), Benjamin made bequests to the following persons: sister Martha Carlton, sister Abigail Stoddard of Boston, sister Phebe Marble, sister Joanna Shephard of Haverhill, Thomas Shephard the only son and child of sister Joanna, Theodore Carlton son of sister Martha Carlton, James Carlton son of sister Hannah Carlton, children of sister Hannah Carlton, Jonathan Barker of Methuen son of his brother Jonathan deceased, Benjamin Barker son of Joseph Barker deceased and grandson of brother Joseph Barker deceased, Joshua Carlton son of sister Hannah Carlton, Sarah Barker daughter of Deacon Samuel Barker of Andover, three sons of his sister Martha Carlton who are Isaac, Christopher, and Asa, children of sister Phebe Marble who are Benjamin, Samuel, and Rebecca, and Alice Messer wife of William Messer and daughter of brother Jonathan Barker. Theodore Carlton was named executor.1
