On 19 June 1806, Benjamin Barker of Peterborough, New Hampshire purchased parts of lots 10 and 11 in the eighth range at Windsor totaling about 55 acres from John Capen of Windsor for twelve hundred dollars with eleven hundred dollars of the amount in the form of a mortgage. Benjamin borrowed $500 against this property from Mark Avery of Middletown, Vermont on 15 February 1808 with Daniel Barker a signer on the promissory note.1

On 29 April 1805, Benjamin Barker with Daniel Barker and his wife Sarah (Benjamin’s father Daniel and his second wife Sarah) of Peterborough, in consideration of twenty-six hundred dollars, sold to Joshua Prat of East-Town in Bristol County, Massachusetts a parcel of land in Peterborough with all the buildings.1
