On 1 February 1809, James Barker sold thisproperty to Stephen Barker (likely his younger brother), carpenter ofPeterborough, for payment of five hundred dollars.[1] On12 April 1820, six months before his marriage, James Barker, carpenter ofPeterborough, purchased twelve acres with buildings in the northerly part ofPeterborough from John Mussey for payment of three hundred dollars.[2][1] NewHampshire Land Records, Hillsborough County, 81:231, 81:232[2] NewHampshire Land Records, Hillsborough County, 157:192James and Elizabeth Barkermortgaged their 12-acre property on 10 April 1829 to Benjamin Pollard for onehundred and twenty dollars with a promise to pay within one year. Noted in the deed was that the property adjoinedland on which James Barker previously lived.[1] On 3 April 1856, Elizabeth Barker, widow ofPeterborough, sold the property she obtained from Benjamin B.
