Immigration
As young men in Nebraska, Charles and Herman Wittgow herded cattle in summers. They would take cattle at so much a head for the summer, drive their herd to the open grassland in the spring, and return them in the fall. They were probably two of the first cowboys in Nebraska.Endnotes
