Bertha Marie Staberg, 92, of Hammond died Feb. 17 at the American Heritage
Care Center in Hammond.
She was born Sept. 15, 1902, in Badger, Minn., the daughter of Julius E. and
Marie (Kunde) Miller, and attended country school in Badger.
On Aug. 24, 1923, at the Swedish Lutheran Church in Hudson, she was married
to James C. Staberg. He preceded in death in 1994.
She worked as a waitress in Minneapolis, as a dressmaker at Donaldson's
Department Store and then as a homemaker.
She enjoyed gardening and each year would plant hundreds of flowers,
especially gladioluses. She also liked quilting, crocheting and knitting and
would make toys, crafts and afghans for the American Heritage hobby shop and
craft sale.
Surviving are a daughter, Annette (Kenneth) DeWitte, two sons, Fred Staberg
and James (Ruth) Staberg, all of Hudson; a brother, Pearl Miller of St. Paul;
seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran
Church in Hudson with the Rev. Fred W. Golke, interim pastor, officiating.
Organist was Jan Fredrick, and solist was Tom Dahle.
A private interment will be in Willow River Cemetery in Hudson.

Bertha Marie Staberg, 92, of Hammond died Feb. 17 at the American Heritage
