Election papers were taken out this week by Margaret K. Beaudry. She is seeking re-election as St. Croix county treasurer.
She has served nine years as deputy treasurer, and for the last two years as St. Croix county treasurer. She was recommended by the finance committee, and appointed by the St. Croix county board, to fulfill the duties of the
unexpired term of the former county treasurer in September of 1978 and took office in January of 1979. She has worked closely with both the county board and the finance committees.

Although election day for St. Croix county offices is some eight months away, one incumbent has already announced that she will not seek reelection, and a race is shaping up at in at least one other county office.
County treasurer Margaret Beaudry has announced that she will not run again. She has been treasurer for 13 years.
Deputy treasurer Mary Jean Livermore, Hudson, will run for treasurer in the November election. She has worked in the office since 1979.

BEAUDRY RETIREMENT DINNER SET
Margaret Beaudry, St. Croix county treasuer, will be presented with a retirement dinner in her honor on Jan. 20.
Mrs. Beaudry, Hudson, chose not to seek reelection this term, retiring from public service Jan. 3 after 13 years in the county treasurer's office.
The recognition dinner at the Valley House, rural Hudson, is open to the public.

Margaret Katherine Beaudry, 81, a long time resident of Hudson, died at Hudson Medical Center, January 15.
She was born January 8, 1918, in Cylon, the daughter of Stanley and Augusta Palewicz Kolashinski. She received her education in Roberts.
After her schooling, she was married to Eugene Beaudry at the St. Patrick's Rectory in Hdson on November 18, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1985.
After raising her children, she went to work for St. Croix County. She was the first deputy treasurer and then was elected the county treasurer, a position she held until her retirement in 1982. She loved her family and was proud of her grand and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing bingo, crossword puzzles, watching football and listenng to country music.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Eugene; two daughters, Jean Miller and Mary Beaudry; two sisters, Mary Wekkin and Mabel Pepolinski; and four brothers, Dennis, Lawrence, Frank and Joe Kolashinski.
Surviving are a daughter, Juie (Stan) Bonngard of Hudson; a son, Joe (Kim) Beaudry of Hudson; seven grandchildren, Patricia Miller, Dawn (Bonngard) Blaiser, Stan and Jeff Bonngard, Andrea, Becky and Haley Beaudry; six great grandchildren, Tori Miller, Patrick, Samantha and Tyler Bonngard, Reece and Rhea Blaiser; a sister, Pat King of Hudson; a brother, Henry (Lucille) Kolashinski of Woodbury, Minnesota; two sisters-in-law, Frances Powers and Ruth Beaudry, both of Hudson; and a son-in-law, Dennis Miller of North Hudson.
Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m., Monday, January 18, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hudson with the Rev. Peter Szleszinski officiating. Interment was in St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery. Actice casketbearers were Jeff and Stanley Bonngard, Denny, Patsy and Tori Miller and Jeff Blaiser.
