Augusta "Gutie" Kolashinski, 96, died Thursday morning, Feb. 4, at
Christian Community Home, where she had resided the past three years.
She was born Oct. 2, 1896, in Glenwood City, the daughter of John and
Felicia (Mackiewicz) Palewicz, and attended school in rural Glenwood City.
She was married in 1911 to Stanley Kolashinski at St. John's Catholic
Church in Glenwood City. They farmed in different areas of eastern St. Croix
county before settling in the Roberts area. After Stanley died in 1932, Gustie
moved to Hudson.
She was employed as a cook in Hudson at the Old Trail 12, Bass Lake Lodge,
St. Patrick's rectory when Monsignor Owens was pastor and was also a cook for
Charlie Ward.
She enjoyed fabric painting and bingo.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Wekkin in 1984 and three sons, Joseph in 1964, Lawrence in 1975 and Dennis. Surviving are two sons, Frank of New Richmond and Henry of Woodbury MN; three daughters, Mabel Peplinski of Stillwater and Margaret Beaudry and Patricia King, both of Hudson; two brothers, Victor Palewicz of Glenwood City and Frank Palewicz of St. Paul; three sisters, Lucy Jankowski, Josephine Nebel and Bernice Frye, all of Floral City, Fla.; 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

Cecelia F. Pink, 85, of St. Paul, and a sister of a Hudson woman, died Thursday, Dec. 5.
The funeral Mass was Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church in St. Paul with interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Alex; a son, Frederic J. Templeman of Charlotte, N.C., and a daughter, Marjorie J. Fenol of Santa Fe, N.M.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers and four sisters, including Augusta Kolashinski of 1015 Second St.
She was the daughter of John and Felicia (Meskievwicz) Palewicz and had been previously married to Ben Templeman.
