Mary Jo Anne Wekkin, 63, of 503 Fourth St., died Thursday evening, March 8, at Hudson Memorial hospital hospice unit, where she had been a patient for the past three weeks.
She was born Oct. 21, 1920 in Emerald, the daughter of Stanley and Augusta (Palewicz) Kolashinski.
She and her family lived in rural Roberts before they moved to Hudson, where she was graduated from Hudson High School in 1938.
On Nov. 27, 1953, she was married to Kenneth Wekkin at St. Patrick's Catholic church.
For 35 years, from 1943 to 1978, she was employed in Hudson by United Refrigerator, where her last position was purchasing agent. From 1979 to 1981, she was employed at Toro company in Hudson.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild of St. Patrick's.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth; two sons, Stanley of 915 Second st., and Steven of 77 Coulee Rd.; a daughter, Mrs. Calvin (Mary Jo) Lucas of Minneapolis; her mother, Mrs. Augusta Kolashinski of 1015 Second st.; two brothers, Henry Kolashinski of Woodbury, Minn., and Frank Kolashinski of New Richmond; three sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Mabel) Peplinski of Stillwater, Mrs. Eugene (Margaret) Beaudry of 1016 Tenth st., and Mrs. Robert (Patricia) King of 1020 Front st.; three grandsons, Andrew, Adam and Lawrence.
Preceding her in death were her father and three brothers, Sonny, Joseph and Lawrence.
Mass of Christian Burial, March 12, St. Patrick's Catholic church. Interment was in St. Patrick's cemetery. Pallbearers were Joseph Beaudry, Jerry Gumphrey, Jeff King, Jerry Kolashinski, Michael Kolashinski and Robert Kolashinski.
