Stricken on Main Street
Christian Sangsland Falls on the Walk by Central House and Expires in a Few Minutes
No death could be more sudden and unexpected than that which came to Christian Sangslnd about 8 o'clock Saturday night. He was walking up Second street past the Central Hotel when he sank down. Willing hands carried him into the hotel, and Dr. Bickford, who chanced to be near, strove to restore him, but he died about five minutes after the prostration.
He had worked all Saturday at his trade as mason and just before his death was in Dania Hall assisting in the preparations for the Ebenezer festival in which he was to participate. He seemed well and happy, no symptoms of illiness appearing. It is though that death was caused by hemorrhage of the brain.
The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon, Rev. N. L. Blomholm officiating. All near relatives of the deceased, except one or two were present.
Christian Sangsland was an unmarried man of 41 years. He was a good kind man, always pleasant and agreeable. It is doubtful whether he had a single enemy anywhere. His death is universally mourned.
