George Emmett "Emmett" Kinney

George Emmett Kinney, 72, a former Hudson rural mail carrier, died Monday, June 27 at his home at Johnson Court in Hammond, Death was caused, presumably, by a heart attack.
Kinney, the son of the late George B. Kinney, was a graduate of Hudson High school in 1923. He was a World War II veteran.

George Emmett Kinney, 72, of Hammond, died June 27, at his home.
Mr. Kinney was born March 12, 1905, in Hudson township, the son of George B. and Mary Anna (Sammon) Kinney.
He was married to Laura Jenson on October 5, 1950.
He was a World War II veteran, served four years overseas and was awarded the purple heart and bronze medal.
He was a rural mail carrier and belonged to the Rural Letter Carrier's Association. He was also a member of the Catholic Knights.
Besides his wife, Laura, he is survived by three sons, Timothy David and Thomas Joseph, both of River Falls and Terrence Michael of Hammond, and by two daughters, Sheila Mary Kinney of St. Paul and Kathleen Ann Kinney of Fairbanks, Alaska. He is also survived by one brother, Mark Kinney of Hammond.
A Bible reading was read Thursday, June 30 at 8 p.m. at the Swanson Funeral Home. Funeral services were Friday, July 1, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's church, Hammond with Rev. Fr. Dennis Dhooge officiating. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hammod.
Pallbearers were Bernard Kinney, George Kinney, Francis Colson, Robert Dahl, Douglas Fyksen and Richard Talskey.
