Mrs. George Kinney Funeral Saturday
Death came to Mrs. George Kinney at noon last Thursday, October 17, after a short illness following a paralytic stroke the week previous. Funeral services were held last Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Patrick's church, with a Requiem high mass by Rev. Fr. Kinney of Barron.
Mary Ann Sammon was born on December 26, 1867 in County Clare, Ireland, the daughter of Thomas and Bridget Sammon. In July, 1885, at the age of 18, she came to this country with her parents, settling on a farm near Hudson.
She was married to George Kinney on June 30, 1897, and they established their home five miles east of Hudson. They resided there until nine years ago when they retired and moved to their present family home at 802 Second street, Hudson.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Kinney is survived by five children, Philip of Mason, Mark of Hammond, Mrs. Ador Carlson of Minneapolis, Emmett and Mrs. Ingmar Dahl of Hudson; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Hackett of St. Paul, and Eileen Sammon of Chicago; one brother, Patrick Sammon of Chicago; and six grandchildren.
