Richard E. Johnson, 36, of 1308 7th St., died Sunday evening, May 7, at Midway hospital in St. Paul after an extended illness.
He was born in Hudson, March 6, 1931, the son of Adolph and Olga (Jostad) Johnson. He lived all of his life in Hudson.
In 1949 he was graduated from from Hudson High School.
He was married to Janice Brathall in Hudson, November 23, 1951. On December 7, 1951, he enlisted in the Army and was discharged November 17, 1953.
He worked as a clerk at J. H. Electrical company until his illness forced him to leave his employment.
He is survived by Janice, his wife, three daughters, Susan Dian, Daren Evonne and Kathy Ann; his father, Adolph Johnson and his mother, Olga, all of Hudson; a sister, Lorraine Heebink, Baldwin, a brother Gerald, Hudson and Thorwald Jostad, a grandfather, Kindred, North Dakota.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 10, at the Bethel Lutheran church. Interment was in Willow River Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Hauge, Roger Peterson, J. H. Larson, Melvin Mahnke of Hudson, Donald Moe, North St. Paul, and Earl Roettger, of Houlton.
