Obituary for Robert E.Gartmann
Robert E. Gartmann, age 81, of Knapp, WI passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.
He was born in Hudson, Wisconsin to Joseph and Ithalia (Axt) Gartmann on June 28, 1936.
Robert served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958 and married Carol Westman on August 8, 1959 in Hudson, Wisconsin. After retirement from PA-CAL Steel, Robert and Carol moved to Knapp,Wisconsin.
He is survived by his wife Carol, three children; David, Peter and daughter Leigh, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one sister Margaret “Peg” Sutter.
He was preceded in death by his son Michael, brothers Bill Shern and Richard Gartmann and his beloved dog “Eddie”.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 1:00- 3:00 p.m. at Knapp Memorial Park in Knapp, Wisconsin.
Olson Funeral Home of Menomonie is assisting the family.
