Charles Swanson, 51, Of Shell Lake Dies
The funeral for Charles W. Swanson, rural Spooner, who died Friday, May 16,
1980, at the Shell Lake Indianhead Memorial Hospital, was Monday morning at the
Pockat Funeral Home in Shell Lake, Rev. Norman Luecke officiating, with burial
in the Shell Lake Cemetery.
He was born March 21, 1929, in Rush City, Minn. He was married July 3, 1953 to
Bobbi Rydberg at Shell Lake. The couple resided at Shell Lake until 1979 when
they moved to rural Spooner. He farmed for a short time, had worked for Durand
and Randall Motors, Spooner, and most recently was employed by the City of
Shell Lake. He had been fire chief at Shell Lake.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Jan Rohlik, Eau Claire,
Joan Swanson, Chippewa Falls, and Jill White and Jerri Pederson, Shell Lake;
two grandchildren; a brother, Gilbert, Rush City; and a sister, Bernice Melin,
Park Rapids, Minn.
