Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lindstrom announce the engagement of their daughter, Maxine Leonore, to Florian A. Weckworth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Weckwerth of Stillwater. The wedding will be August 17.

Maxine L. “Max” Weckwerth, age 70 of North Hudson, died on Monday, July 6, 2009 at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. Maxine was born on Nov. 18, 1929 in St. Joseph Township to Arthur and Mrtle (Wolf) Lindstrom. Maxine attended schools in St. Joseph, and graduated from Hudson High School. On Aug. 17, 1957, Maxine would be married to Florian “Weck” Weckwerth in Stillwater. Their union would be blessed with a son, Mark.
Maxine and Weck finished construction on the The Rustic Hut, a bar, restaurant and dance hall in Burkhardt. Together they owned and operated the establishment for many, many years. Maxine also worked at Andersen Windows for nearly 14 years. Outside of work, Maxine enjoyed fishing-especially for walleyes, flower gardening, playing cards and cribbage, and competing in league billards as well as legue softball.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 51 years, Floridan “Weck” Weckwerth of North Hudson; her beloved son, Mark Weckwerth of North Hudson; her brother Dean (Linda) Lindstrom of New Richmond; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents her two brothers, Leslie Lindstrom and Donald Lindstrom; and her special cat, Fingers.
Memorial services were Saturday, July 11, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. Interment followed at the Houlton Cemetery.
