Florian Weckwerth, 81
Florian A. "Weck" Weckwerth, age 81, of North Hudson, WI passed away on October 21, 2012 at his home.
Weck was born on Oct. 11, 1931, to Edmund and Rosella (Dosh) Weckwerth, in Stillwater, Minn. He attended St. Mary's Elementary as well as graduated from Stillwater High School. Following his education, he enrolled in the U.S. Marines. Upon returning, he married Maxine Lindstrom on Aug. 17, 1947, at St. Michael's Church in Stillwater, a marriage that would be blessed with their one child, Mark "Bubba." Together as a family, they owned and operated The Rustic Hut in Burkhardt.
Weck worked as a sprinkler fitter in the Twin Cities and passed this passion on to his son, Mark.
After retiring, they sold the business and the family home and moved to Minong, Wis., where they enjoyed many adventures at their cabin home. Weck spent his last years enjoying the company of his son, as well as caring staff members, in his home in North Hudson.
Weck is survived by his son, Mark; brother, Frank "Bud"; sisters Patricia and Fernie; dog, Daisy; along with many nieces, nephews, and loving friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Max; his parents, Edmund and Rosella; sisters Francis and Florence; and cat, Fingers.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at the O'Connell Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, with a memorial service starting at 3 p.m. Burial will be at Houlton Cemetery, followed by a gathering at the Village Inn in North Hudson.
