To Matthew Heard, son of Mary, dwelling plantation, that my bro. Luke Heard, will make it over to them, and 27 A., pt. of "Heard's Choice".
To William, 4 A., pt. of "Heard's Security", adjoining where John lives.
Bro. Luke Heard make over to Mark Peek, small piece of land where his mill stands.
To bro. Mark Heard, one slave.
To sister Eleanor Clark, a slave.
To cousen Francis Hopewell, riding mare.
To cousin Elizabeth Clark, dau. of Abraham Clark, one slave.
I acknowledge that I agreed with bro. Luke Heard, if he would give me 150 A., whereon I now dwell that I would give him 150 A. of land my father willed to me, and that was agreed on by us.

The Last will of St. Mary's County. In the name of God Amen, I Mathew Heard of the county above said, being weak and infirm of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is apointed for all man to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament, in manner and form following. First I bequeath my soul unto the hands of my saviour Jesus Christ, trusting through the merits, and passion everlasting salvation, and my body to the earth, to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executors here after mentioned, & as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me, I give and dispose of in manner & form as follows.
Item I give and bequeath unto Mathew Heard son of Mark, my dwelling plantation with one hundred and twenty three acres of Land more or less, Catted House addition, I desire for Gods sake that my brother Luke Heard will make it over to him. The said Mathew Heard, and his heirs forever, also Twenty seven acres of land tract of Heard's Choice to him & his heirs forever.
Item I give and bequeath unto William Aud four acres of land tract of Heard's Security adjoyning the land where John Aud lives to him and his heirs forever.
Item Its my desire that my Brother Luke make over to Mary Peek a small piece of land whereon her mill stands.
Item I give and bequeath unto my brother Mark Heard, one negro wench named Monica.
Item I give and bequeath unto my brother Luke Heard one negro named George .
Item I give and bequeath unto my sister Eleanor Clarke one negro man named Jack.
Item I give and bequeath unto my cousin Francis Hopewell, my riding ____ mare.
Item I give and Bequeath unto my cousin Elizabeth Clarke daughter of Abraham Clarke, one negro boy named Jeremiah.
Item I acknowledge that I agreed, with my brother Luke Heard, that if he would give me one hundred fifty acres of Land wheron I now dwell that I would give him one hundred and fifty acres of land my father willed to me, and that was agreed on by us.
Item I give and bequeath unto Bennett Hopewell, one feather bed and a pair of sheets.
Item I acknowledge that what bricks is in the brick kiln belongs to my brother Luke Heard.
Item I give and bequeath unto my brother Mark Heard and my sister Eleanor Clarke, all the remaining part of my estate, after my just debts are paid, and satisfied, lastly I constitute appoint and ordain my brother Mark Heard, and Abraham Clarke to be joynt executors of this my last will and testament disallowing and revoking al wills formerly by me made, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament, In witness of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 27th day of May Anno Domini 1766 Mathew Heard seal signed sealed published & declared by the said Mathew Heard to be his Last will & Testament in St. Marys County on the twenty second Day July 1766 in the presence of of Joseph Jenkins Thomas Norris Clement Norris Luke Heard.
Came Joseph Jenkins, Thomas Norris, Clement Norris, & Luke Heard the subscribing evidences the afore going last will and testament of Mathew Heard late of the County afore sd deceased & severally made oath on the Holy Evangels of AlMighty God that they did see the said Mathew Heard, the testator there in named, sign and seal this will, and heard him publish and declare the same to be his last will & Testament and that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their Apprehension of perfect sence and of sound and disposing mind memory, and understanding and that they respectively subscribed their names as witnesses to the said will in the presence and at the request of the afsd Testator, and that they did see each other subscibe, their names thereto as evidences, Sworn before Stewart Edwrds Deputy Commissioner St. Marys County.
On the twenty second Day of July 1766 Came Mark Heard, and Abraham Clarke, Executors of Mathew Heard late of St. Marys County Deceased and made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that the aforegoing is the only last will and testament of the said Mathew Heard that has come to their hands possession or knowledge Sworn before Stewart Edwards Deputy Commisioner
