Death

Wayne Furr, 71, of Lafayette, died at 7 a.m. Monday, April, 3, 2006, at Home Hospital. He was born Feb. 2, 1935, to the late Lloyd R. Furr and Lillian A. Booe in Veedersburg. His marriage was to Pat L. Clapp on May 25, 1956, in Mellott, and she survives. Mr. Furr worked as a tool and die specialist at Alcoa Aluminum Plant for 30 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and enjoyed sports. Surviving with his wife are five daughters, Linda Bohs (husband: Curtis), Sheila Spence, Connie Wagner (fiancee: Rob Perkins) and Joanie Johnson, all of Lafayette, and Brenda Payne of Hillsboro; two brothers, Robert Furr (wife: Amy) and Donald Furr (wife: Claudia), all of Veedersburg; two stepbrothers, Tom White and George White, both of Hillsboro; and a sister, Betty Barker (husband: Bob) of Veedersburg. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Fisher-Loy Funeral Chapel in Lafayette. Committal service 10 a.m. Thursday at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, Pastor R.W. Murdock officiating. He loved spending time with his 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Contributions in lieu of flowers to the Lighthouse Baptist Church.
