Death
Richard L. Furr, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away on October 4, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Audree (Vance) Furr, first wife Arnett Ardene (Wright) Furr, infant son, siblings Williard Furr, Harlan Furr, Donald Furr, June Furr, Patricia Stacy, Rosalie Postalwait, and granddaughter Shannon Murray. Richard was born April 8, 1931 near Glenville, West Virginia. He served in the United States Air Force from 1952 - 56 and retired from Columbus and Southern Electric Company (AEP) after working 31 years. He is survived by his wife, Georgiana Swann Murray Furr; sister, Wilogene (Shamblin) Swinehart; children, Teresa Furr, Carolyn Furr, Andrew (Mary) Furr, Kim Murray, Todd (Kim) Murray, and Rebecca (Daniel) Frasher; grandchildren, Joshua Furr, Christopher Furr, Rachel Furr, Glenn (Whitney) Murray, Jonathan Murray, Timothy (Kyrbi) Murray, Catherine Frasher, Caleb Frasher; great grandchildren, Ethan Furr, Jase Murray, Hayden Murray, and Harrison Murray. Other family members include Russ Atwood, Christy Stewart, Cathy Murray, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, October 7 with a service immediately following at First Baptist Church of Grove City, 3301 Orders Rd., Grove City, Ohio. The family has requested no flowers but memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church where Richard was a member since 1968.
