Death
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. today at the Pleasant View Lutheran Church, Staunton, for Mrs. Alice Gertrude Snow, 79, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. J. Newberry, Park Rd., Saturday at 7:15 p.m. Born in Augusta County on Aug. 29, 1876, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Nannie Houff Furr. Mrs. Snow was a member of the Smyrna Presbyterian Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Thomas Bear, Beaver, Pa.; Mrs. A. J. Newberry, Mrs. Hugh Copper and Mrs. Earl Wine, all of Waynesboro; four sons, Thomas and Russell Snow, both of Waynesboro; William H. Snow, Washington, D. C., and Floyd A. Snow, New Orleans, La.; 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral service was conducted by the Rev. G. S. Buchanan.
