Death
LIMA — Jack Lloyd Furr, 74, passed away unexpectedly at his residence September 5, 2014. Jack was born December 22, 1939 in Kenton, Ohio to Isaac and Elizabeth (Hoover) Furr. Both parents preceded him in death. On June 10, 1961 he married Carrol (Harman) Furr, who also preceded him in death. Jack retired from Ford Motor Company after more than 40 years of employment. Since his retirement, Jack has been a part of the ramp crew, UAW Local 1219, building ramps for the disabled. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Throughout his life, he enjoyed hunting, sports, umpiring and traveling. He also attended Lima Baptist Temple. Jack is survived by his children Jackie Jones of Piedmont, South Carolina, Misty (Troy) Hefner of Loveland, Ohio and Rodney (Angi) Furr of Kettering, Ohio; seven grandchildren Ronald Jones Jr., Jacob Jones, Celeste Hefner, Cybil Hefner, Calloway Hefner, Emma Furr and Jackson Furr; one sister Ada Chiles of Lima, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his brothers Sherman, Walter, Jim, Homer, Raymond, Roy, Chuck and Frankie. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Services will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Gary Holman will be officiating. Burial will be at Ward Cemetery.
