A pretty wedding took place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Maffett at Herndon, Va., last Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, when their daughter, Nannie, became the bride of Mr. M. Buckner Furr. The bride was handsomely gowned in white Paris mull, and her tulle veil was draped with bride roses. Her only attendant was her four-year-old niece, who held her bouquet during the ceremony which was performed by Rev. Mr. Bailey of the Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. Mr. Hopkins. Among those present were: Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Maffett, Misses Alice and Lillian Maffett, Mr. and Mrs. Furr and Mr. Warren Furr. Mr. R. T. Maffett and family, Mr. R. A. Steele and Miss Hattie Scott of Washington, Mr. W. H. French and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Maffett and Mr. WilliamMaffett of Vienna, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Maffett of Watson, Mr. S. T. Hatcher of Purcellville, the Misses Fitzhugh and Mrs. Bailey.

Death
Buckner M. Furr, 77, of Amissville died November 26 at the Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mabel Pyne Furr, one son, Gordon R. Furr, Arlington; three brothers, Carl and Walter Furr, Mountville, and Clayton Furr, Unison; six sisters, Mrs. Annie Wiltshire, Mrs. Edith Johnson, Mrs. Raymond Nichols, all of Arlington, Mrs. Etta Hensley and Mrs. Violet Haines, Mountville, and Mrs. Lottie Presgraves, Marshall. Services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Wiltshire Funeral Home, Upperville. Interment was at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Upperville.The Fauquier Democrat, Warrenton, Virginia, December 1, 1960
