Death
JOHN P. FURR, 90, died at 9:10 p.m. July 7, 1995, at his stepdaughter’s residence in Alger. He was born March 4, 1905, in Franklin County to John W. and Lucy Horn Furr. On Nov. 16, 1938, he married Juanita Croy Kramer, who survives. Mr. Furr was a stockroom attendant at Clark Equipment Co., retiring in 1970. He also worked on the marsh for Jack Jones. Survivors also include a step daughter, Anna Mae (Ralph) Shadley of Alger; a brother, Floyd Furr of Lakeside, Calif.; four stepgrandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Gossard; an infant at birth; three brothers, Harry, Charles “Ted,” and Willis Furr; and a sister, Glenna: Belle Rodenberger. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Preston Cemetery, Alger. The Rev. Calvin Waugh will officiate. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger.
