Death
Mrs. Lucy Furr, 68, Alger, died at 7:02 a.m. today in Memorial hospital following a two-year illness. A native of Johnstown, she had observed her 68th birthday Thursday. She was a life-long resident of Hardin County and a member of the Assembly of God Church, Alger. Her husband, John, died in 1941. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Glennabelle Rodenberger, Toledo; five sons, John and Floyd, Alger; Willis, St. Louis, Mo.; Charles, Columbus, and Harry, McGuffey; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, and four sisters, all of Columbus. The body will remain in the Hanson Funeral Home, Alger, where friends may call after 10 a.m. tomorrow. The body will be removed to the Assembly of God Church at 1:30 p.m. Monday to remain for services at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Leroy Hay will officiate and burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.Published in The Lima News, Saturday, November 7, 1953
