Death

BUCKHANNON — Larry G. Furr, 72, of Buckhannon, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 at his home. He was born Aug. 9, 1945 in Gilmore County, a son of the late Maise and Pearl Young Furr. He married Betty Mick who preceded him in death on Feb. 6, 2003. He is survived by two sons, Jonathan Furr, of Weston, and Matthew Furr and girlfriend Melissa, of Buckhannon; one grandson, Lucas Furr, of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Hannah Furr, of Buckhannon; two brothers, Guy Furr and wife Judy and Bob Furr all Medina, Ohio and two sisters, Rita Smith, of Cincinatti, Ohio, and Verlyn Rexroad, of Buckhannon. Mr. Furr was a social worker and was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. Friends will be received Monday, Sept. 25, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. He will lie in State from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Velley United Methodist Church with Rev. Rodney Heckert officiating. Burial will follow in the Mick Family Cemetery in Hackers Creek. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
