Death

Verlyn Ditty Rexroad, 89, of Buckhannon, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at Stonerise Nursing Home in Bridgeport. She was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Glenville, a daughter of the late Maise and Pearl Young Furr. She is survived by one son, David W. Rexroad and wife, Jackie, of Bridgeport; two grandsons, Robert W. Rexroad and wife, Liz, of Bridgeport, and Adam L. Rexroad and wife, Marissa, of Wilmington, Delaware; two great-grandsons, Weldon Rexroad of Bridgeport and Jackson Rexroad of Wilmington; one great-granddaughter, Margot Rexroad of Bridgeport; one sister, Rita Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, Guy M. Furr and wife, Judy, of Medina, Ohio, and Robert N. Furr of Lodi, Ohio; one special niece, Lori Ward of Buckhannon; and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Helen Carr, Wahneta Powell and Leona Tomey; and one brother, Larry G. Furr. Ms. Rexroad was a Baptist by faith, a teacher for many years and spent most of her life as an interior designer. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at 2 p.m. at the Heavner Cemetery with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
