Death
Betty Maureen Furr, 57, of 76 Farland Drive, Weston, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at her home. She was born Aug. 25, 1945, in Buckhannon, a daughter of Pelton Scott and Dorsy F. Hinkle Mick. She married Larry Furr, who survives in Weston. Also surviving are two sons, Larry Matthew Furr and Jonathan Mick Furr, both of Weston; three brothers, Billee Scott Mick, Buckhannon, Felton Junior Mick, Bullhead, Ariz., and Clinton L. Mick, Hackers Creek; three sisters, Millee Mae Adams, Easton, Pa., Caroline Fern Jones, New Philadelphia, Ohio, and Shirely Ann Messenger, Berlin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, George Oscar Mick, Thomas Orestus Mick and Jesse Adam Mick. She was an economic specialist for Health & Human Resources. She attended Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. Friends will be received Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. On Monday, she will be moved to Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, where she will lie in state from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour, with the Rev. Mary Ellen Finegan and the Rev. Bonnie Starkey officiating. Interment will follow in Mick Family Cemetery at Hackers Creek. From 7 Feb 2003.Obituaries are used with the permission of the Elkins Intermountain.
