Death

Doyle M. Hoxsey, 96, of Ottawa, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Pleasant View Luther Home. An open house in his honor will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at Pitstick Pavilion with a memorial message at 3. Private graveside services were at West Serena Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Ottawa Funeral Home. Mr. Hoxsey was born May 31, 1908, in Dayton, to John and Ina (Hall) Hoxsey. He married Ardella Furr on June 21,1936, in Ottawa. She died July 7,1971. He owned and operated the Hoxsey Wedron Store until retiring in1977. He was a member of Hardee's Coffee Group. He is survived by two daughters, Lurita Adams of Houston, Texas, and Inette (William) Godman of Mount Prospect; a son, Merwin (Ann) of San Diego, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to. the donor's choice.
