Death
John D. Hoxsey, 86, died early today, in Rivershores Nursing Home in Marseilles. The body will be taken to Chicago to be cremated, and private graveside services will be held in West Serena Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation. Mr. Hoxsey was born in Serena Township, Nov. 6,1884, to Lincoln and Mary Atherton Hoxsey. He is survived by his wife, Mary of Ottawa; a son, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Hoxsey was owner and operator of a grocery store in Wedron before his retirement. The Hulse Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Endnotes
