William Alonzo Stell Jr.

Mr. Billy A. Stell, Jr., 90, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at the Pinewood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossett. Mr. Stell was a native of Ashley County and a life long resident of Hamburg. He worked for Georgia-Pacific Plywood Mill for 38 years and he was a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Bozeman Stell in 2003; a son, Zack Bozeman in 1988; his parents, William & Carrie Croswell Stell; five sisters, Velma Stell Sullivan, Doris Stell Smith, Nadine Stell Kelley, Katie Stell Chadwick and Mildred Stell Tucker and a brother, Edward Stell.
He is survived by a grandson, Billy Bozeman and wife, Ruthie, of Hamburg; a granddaughter, Debbie Rogers of El Dorado; four great-grandchildren, Grace Rogers & Justin Rogers, Ashley Greene and Courtney Keller; a great-great-grandchild, Nicolas Mondragon and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services and burial are 10 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2011 in the Promise Land Cemetery with Rev. Charles Pullin officiating. Pallbearers are Steven Kelley, Kevin Smith, Jimmy Mack Sullivan, Sammy Wallace, Billy Stafford, Scotty Stafford, Haskell Carpenter and Charles Carpenter. Memorials may be made to the Promise Land Cemetery Association, c/o Mrs. JoAnne Sullivan, 318 Ashley Road 131, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., Saturday at Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church.
