Mrs. Mildred C. Tucker, 93, of Hamburg died Sunday, December 23, 2007, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. A native of Montrose; a resident of the Promise Land community outside Hamburg all of her life, she graduated from the Promise Land School. She was a homemaker, a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church and had been an active member of the EHC Club when she was younger. She loved listening to gospel music.
She is survived by a brother, William "Billy" Stell of Hamburg; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Tucker, in 2003; her parents, William & Carrie Croswell Stell; four sisters, Velma Stell Sullivan, Doris Stell Smith, Nadine Stell Kelley and Katie Stell Chadwick; and a brother, Edward Stell
Funeral services are at 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 26, in the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. Michael Reese and Charles Pullin officiating. Burial will be in the Promise Land Cemetery. Pallbearers are Steven Kelley, Kevin Smith, Bill Wallace, Jimmy M. Sullivan, Billy Bozeman, Steve Brooks and Ben Stell. Honorary pallbearers are Charles "Bull" Wells, Dewey "Scutter: Kilcrease, Sammy Wallace, Scottie Stafford, Billy Stafford, William Stell, Nolan Hagood, Bobby Shockley and Charles Smith. Jr. Memorials may be made to the Promise Land Cemetery Association, 318 Ashley 131 Road, Hamburg, AR 71646. Funeral arrangements were by Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home, Hamburg.
